On 10–11 April 2025, LuminaLeap Technologies, in collaboration with Takealot, Kaelo Group, and Urban Mobility, hosted “The Making of a Digital Entrepreneur,” an impactful two-day workshop designed specifically to empower 120 young entrepreneurs from Alexandra, Gauteng.
This initiative aimed to equip the youth with the essential digital skills required to build and grow successful businesses in today’s digital-first economy. The workshop focused on practical knowledge and hands-on training, providing participants with a solid foundation to establish profitable online brands.
The workshop sessions were strategically structured into four comprehensive segments:
- Mindset Transformation: Participants explored the essential entrepreneurial mindset needed for success in the digital era. They addressed common barriers and learned to transition from merely hustling to building scalable business models.
- Digital Tools Mastery: Attendees received detailed training on accessible, cost-effective digital platforms like Canva, FreePik, Pixabay, Pexels, CapCut, TikTok, Google Suite, Facebook Business, and Facebook Business Suite. This session emphasized practical skills such as effectively using smartphones for business purposes.
- Hands-On Digital Marketing: Participants engaged in practical exercises, including creating business posters with Canva, crafting creative social media advertisements, and mastering effective posting strategies to maximize audience engagement and reach.
- Learning from Success Stories: Real-world case studies, such as Theo Baloyi from Bathu and Godiragetse Mogajane from Delivery Ka Speed, provided inspiring insights into leveraging popular platforms like WhatsApp Business, Facebook, Instagram, and Shopify to successfully launch and grow businesses.
The results were immediate and encouraging. Participants reported enhanced capabilities in digital content creation, online brand management, and effective customer engagement. The hands-on training style was particularly praised for its direct applicability to real-life business scenarios.
